The good news is, submissions are still open to this day. The bad news is, after six years of utter chaos, we've finally laid down some precise, immovable guidelines that we must ask all submitters to follow. You'll find them explained clearly here.

Before that though, a word on timings: you are submitting to be one of the three books we intend to publish in the first half of 2016. We plan to do one in February, one in March, and one in April; this isn't a lot of books, and there will almost certainly be a hundred times that many enquiries, including some from existing VP authors. The odds of you being successful are, to be honest, rather small - and worse still, we won't be able to offer any individual feedback on your manuscript. That would be an impossible task. We can only judge your work on our personal preferences and passions; our eventual decision tells you nothing about the quality of your writing. At least two of the manuscripts we've turned down in the past went on to be nominated for major literary awards - so what do we know?

We will try to contact you whatever our decision, assuming you have provided correct contact details; but we won't be deciding which three books to go with until May 2015, so you are unlikely to hear anything until then.
