Winchester Writers’ Festival Competitions

The Winchester Writers’ Festival offers diverse opportunities for emerging writers via its ten writing competitions

Writers do not need to attend the Festival in order to enter.  A shortlist of top entries is posted at the Festival at 10:00 onSaturday, 17 June in the Stripe Building at the University of Wincheser. First, second and third place winners are announced at 18:30 on the same day.

This year the Festival is offering the following competitions:

Poetry
Short Story
First Three Pages of a Novel
Flash Fiction
Children’s Picture Book for readers aged 4-7
Children’s Funny Fiction for readers aged 8-14
Skylark Soaring Stories
Memoir
Writing Can Be Murder
Young Writers’ Competition

In addition to their prizes, first place winners will be published in the festival anthology: The Best of 2017.

Deadline for entries: 15 May, 2017.
Entry fee:  £6 to enter, additional £10 for written feedback.
All entries must be submitted online.
