NAWE, in partnership with Literature Wales, Poetry Ireland and Scottish Book Trust, wishes to commission a briefing sheet on writing residencies
Are you an established writer with extensive experience of undertaking writing residencies in England, across the UK and Ireland?
NAWE, in partnership with Literature Wales, Poetry Ireland and Scottish Book Trust, wishes to commission a briefing sheet on writing residencies aimed at writers who are interested in undertaking residency work and want to know more about what is involved and how to get started. You can download the full brief by clicking the Associated Downloads link to the right of this column.
This will be the latest title in the NAWE series of Briefings – other topics in this series of ‘how to’ factsheets to support the creative and business aspects of being a writer include writing and regeneration, fundraising for projects, time management, creative co-mentoring and marketing for authors. These are available as downloads here.
The briefing will be available as a download from the NAWE website and from the websites of partner organizations Literature Wales, Poetry Ireland and Scottish Book Trust.
A fee of £500 is available.
If you would like to apply, please send a covering letter with details of your writing residency work in England, across the UK and Ireland, and information about your experience in writing materials of this kind (and an example, if possible), together with your CV and the names of two referees, to p.johnston@nawe.co.uk by Wednesday 14 December.
We intend to appoint someone based on the applications but may need to hold short telephone interviews as well.
Please contact Philippa Johnston, The Writer’s Compass, NAWE on 0131 553 2210 or email her if you have any queries.
