Apprenticeships in Fiction is a structured, supervised programme of manuscript appraisals and consultations supplemented by regular, ongoing feedback. It offers an opportunity to work towards publication, within the context of current industry trends and standards. Apprentices benefit from engaging directly with an experienced writer-mentor who will guide them through the process of writing a first novel, from first draft to completion.

The original boot camp for writers, the scheme has a high success rate, with more than seven publications and more than thirteen writers now with literary agents. Specialist areas include literary and commercial fiction, crime, fantasy and fiction for children and young people (9+ and YA).

The scheme includes:
• Individual attention from a mentor working in the same genre.
• Four one-to-one sessions via Zoom, FaceTime or phone.
• Two full assessments of your novel at key stages.
• Two partial intensive editorial reports at key stages.
• A detailed guide to writing the perfect submission package.

This is a demanding programme that seeks to fast-track aspiring writers of outstanding talent.

Fees: £2,500 inclusive.
