I have known Sue Guiney for nearly ten years, first as a parent of students here at the American School and later as a poet and workshop leader in our after-school program. Sue has a natural affinity for children and is very encouraging when she works with novice writers. She shares her work with them in a way that demonstrates the effort required to be a poet while making it seem possible to create very innovative and beautiful examples of which they are justly proud. In addition, Sue has done one-off lectures on the Greek Tragic theatre and creative writing to older students and adults. She also ran the "Words to Music" program with two groups of students, which culminated in a performance of their poetry being interpreted musically by a professional symphony orchestra.
I am certain that Sue would be an excellent addition to your program and I have confidence in her appropriateness with students and her genuine love for what she does so well.
