Following on from another very successful NAWE conference, NAWE's Director Seraphima Kennedy is stepping down from her role on 15th March 2023.
She writes:
It’s been an absolute privilege to serve NAWE Members as Director since 2018, and as Programme Director from 2016. I’ve learned so much from working with so many talented writers, facilitators, performers and educators. NAWE is an incredibly resourceful and supportive community, and I’ll miss it. I’ll be taking some time to catch up with my own writing before going freelance, so look out for more news on projects to come. I’d like to thank my brilliantly supportive board and colleagues, and I wish NAWE every success in future. I’ll continue as a NAWE member and I look forward to seeing you online and in person as our writing lives continue to grow.
The Board of Trustees would like to thank Seraphima for her contribution to NAWE since she was appointed in 2018. As director, she has had a significant impact on the development of the organisation: leading NAWE through the pandemic, representing members nationally and internationally, setting up Regional Networking Events and the NAWE Open Space, obtaining funding from Arts Council England, and delivering a succession of successful conferences. We wish her well with her future plans. The Board will be reviewing the director role in the months to come and will keep members informed.
