This course is for people interested in writing short science fiction tales, whether they are newcomers to the genre or have some experience. Using short stories and excerpts from novels, film clips and artwork, this course will ultimately help you to draft and complete a short story in this exciting genre. Designed by the University of East Anglia and the National Centre for Writing.

Essex Book Festival takes place every March, and is the only festival of its kind to take place over a one month period, with over 140 events, hosted by forty venues, across one of the UK's largest and most diverse counties.
