They are Dr Jocelyn Page and Dr Jane Moss. Jocelyn and Jane take over the reins from Jonathan Davidson and Professor Derek Neale, who remain as Trustees.

In a joint statement, Jocelyn and Jane say: We are delighted to step up as co-chairs of NAWE, and grateful to have received the support of our fellow Trustees at the recent AGM. Jonathan and Derek have been incredibly generous with their time and wisdom in handing over to us, and we now look forward to taking NAWE forward from the stable base they have achieved.

As long-standing members ourselves, we both value the services NAWE provides to its members. Those include: being part of a diverse network of writers, teachers, researchers and facilitators; opportunities to promote creative writing in formal education settings and community contexts; access to our authoritative journal Writing in Practice and our quarterly Writing in Education magazine; the DBS checking service, public liability insurance and, of course, our popular member meet ups and the annual conference.

We both look forward to working with the Trustees in the years ahead and we encourage anyone with expertise, ideas and - crucially – capacity, to help us promote and develop NAWE at the essential organisation for writing education, whether in schools, HE, and communities.
