The National Association of Writers in Education (NAWE) is pleased to announce a new director to lead the organisation into the next phase of development.
Jonathan Davidson, Chair of the National Association of Writers in Education, said: “Following an open recruitment process which attracted a very high quality field, I am delighted to announce that NAWE’s Management Committee has appointed Seraphima Kennedy as our new Director. Her name will certainly be familiar, as both Programme Director and more recently Interim Director. Seraphima will begin her new role on 1st July 2018."
"We were fortunate to receive a range of inspiring applications from candidates and those interviewed offered varied and exciting visions for NAWE’s future. In the end, Seraphima’s combination of practical aptitude and passionate enthusiasm for NAWE’s work carried the day.
On behalf of the Management Committee and all NAWE members I am delighted to welcome Seraphima to her new role and very much look forward to working with her in the future."
Seraphima Kennedy, Director, National Association of Writers in Education, said:
“It’s an absolute privilege to take on the role of Director of NAWE. I’m looking forward to continuing NAWE’s work as the voice for creative writing in education.
Membership sits at the heart of what we do at NAWE, and it's been brilliant to get to know some of our members at conferences over the past two years. Having worked as a freelance writing tutor, lecturer, poet, journalist and Programme Director for NAWE, I understand many of the challenges members face in terms of developing and sustaining lifelong careers.
I’m looking forward to working with all our members, building on the work we already do to improve our offer for members and make NAWE a real force for the future.”
