Previous long-term work has included a 10 -month collaboration with the Alternatives To Exclusion Project in Highland Region, Scotland; and initiating, organising and participating in multi-disciplinary Art & the Environment projects in South Devon schools.
Dominic has been involved in three projects at Yealand School over the last two years. As a storyteller he has captivated and engaged our junior children with tales from Greek and Norse mythology, providing a fantastic focus and stimulus for two of our history projects. He managed to effortlessly draw the children into the stories on every occasion, often involving them in the performance. Pupils would still be talking about them weeks later, and there was a clear and positive impact on the children's work in History following Dominc's visits.
As a visual artist he recently delivered a project over two weeks that involved the children in creating their own artwork based on seasonal shapes and forms from nature; each child's work formed part of two large-scale triple-spiral patterns that were collaboratively created by Dominic and all the children. The class loved working on the project, the results of which were stunning.
Dominic's visits and projects have all been inspiring. He develops excellent relationships with the children and has always shown a high degree of professionalism in his work at Yealand. I have no hesitation in recommending him to other schools.
