I am a widely published short story writer, as well as a novelist and journalist. I have a particular and developing interest in writing for wellbeing and hold both an MSc in creative writing for therapeutic purposes, and the Level 3 Award in Education and Training. I have Levels 1 and 2 qualifications in digital skills for teaching. I have facilitated workshops in writing for wellbeing and self-discovery, with an emphasis on the enjoyment and sense of personal development that comes from creative writing. I am a member of Lapidus, the RNA and the Society of Authors.
I have facilitated a fortnightly creative writing class for the mental health charity Mind.
I have facilitated writing activities with day patients in two local hospices.
I have run courses for the WEA Southern Region, including but not exclusively for vulnerable adults.
I am the creative writing tutor at The Mill Arts Centre, Banbury, a creative hub and registered charity validated and overseen by Oxfordshire Co Council Adult Learning. I run both courses and ad hoc workshops there, including for specific groups such as recovering addicts.
I am also an adult learning tutor for Buckinghamshire Co Council Adult Learning and was shortlisted for its Adult Learning Tutor of the Year 2019.
I have had over 3,000 short stories and serials published in magazines in the UK, Australia, Ireland and South Africa. My fourth novel, The Ones Who Never Left, will be published in October 2025 by Spiral Books.
I won the Short Story Radio Romance Award 2011 for Love & Life in the Park. My audio monologue The Sleeve in the Door was performed by Chipping Norton theatre in 2020.
As a journalist, I have published hundreds of articles and opinion pieces in a range of magazines and newspapers.
