Creative Writing & Mindfulness with Roz Goddard
Wed 4 Apr 2018 to Wed 2 May 2018
This Writing West Midlands short course in mindfulness writing will look at the positive benefits of developing a regular writing practice through journalling, poetry, short fiction and seeing the extraordinary in the everyday.
The practice of mindfulness helps us to focus on and become engaged with the present moment. By orientating ourselves towards what can be accomplished right here, right now we can challenge notions of success and failure by developing routines and rituals that encourage us to work on what is immediately achievable.

Roz Goddard is a poet and teacher. She is a former poet laureate of Birmingham and has published four collections of poems, the most recent, The Sopranos Sonnets and Other Poems (Nine Arches Press) featured on BBC Radio 3’s The Verb. She won the New Welsh Review’s inaugural micro fiction comp in 2014 and the Interpreter’s House poetry comp in 2015. Recent work has appeared The Emma Press anthology, This is not Your Final Form (2017). A new pamphlet collection, Spill is forthcoming from Flarestack Poets 2017/18. Roz is currently training for ordination in the Triratna Buddhist Order.
