The station has a strong sense of purpose and a desire to be truly creative in its output. It was set up with the following aims which have remained appropriate throughout its existence:

1) To encourage active communication between people of all ages in the communities of East Leeds
2) To encourage debate about the key issues in the communities of East Leeds and discussion as to how to make the area a better place to live in
3) To give a voice to and to tell the stories of all those people and organisations who are making a difference to the area
4) To showcase local talent in writing, music etc
5) To help affirm a positive identity for the area
6) To have some fun!
