Angela Quinn and Sarah Salway (pictured) are joining the editorial team of the NAWE magazine, Writing in Education, with Katherine Gallagher also lined up for the next reshuffle.
Sarah Salway has been a journalist since the early 1980s, writing a wide range of regular features and interviews for newspapers such as the Scotsman, Scottish Daily Express and Scotland on Sunday, as well as working with Cosmopolitan and Time Out in London. Her career started in PR, and she has edited and worked on in-house magazines for organisations as diverse as Lever Industrial, the Bank of Scotland and Strathclyde Regional Council. She has just finished her second novel for Bloomsbury Publishing. She is currently finishing her PhD with Liverpool John Moores University and teaching creative writing at undergraduate and post-graduate level (with the Universities of Kent and Sussex). She also works within the community, particularly in a regular group of teenage girls (normally non-school attenders) attending social courses run through the YWCA in Tonbridge.

Angela Quinn moved to the UK two years ago from Ireland where she worked as a freelance journalist for the Irish Examiner and various weekly papers. She now works for Shropshire and Powys County Councils teaching Creative Writing on their adult learning programmes. She has had many poems and short stories published - the latest in Sexy Short for Lovers which is in the Guardian top ten list of short fiction. Last year she became co-editor of Borderlines Poetry Magazine which is celebrating its thirtieth birthday this year.

Katherine Gallagher has considerable editorial experience on papers and magazines ranging from school newspapers to poetry magazines and reviews/articles for WIE. Working in two Melbourne high schools, (1964-68), she helped student volunteers run the school newspaper. In 1992 she was invited to join Pascale Petit and Leon Cych on the editorial team of Poetry London Newsletter, later Poetry London. She is also London correspondent for Overland Literary Magazine (Melbourne).
