Writers' Guild student membership
Mon 18 Aug 2003
In addition to a heavily discounted membership rate for students, the Writers' Guild is offering students the opportunity to enter a competition to win a DVD player by correctly naming 9 famous writers pictured on the cover of the membership leaflet.
The Writers' Guild is a trade union affiliated to the TUC. We negotiate Minimum Terms Agreements for professional writers with all the major television, theatre, radio and film production groups. From Autumn 2003 we are offering students on accredited writing courses membership of the Guild for only £20 a year. For this they will get telephone advice and access to the members' area on our website; free or discounted admission to Guild events, with the chance to meet big-name writers and network with the community of writers across the country; our bi-monthly Writers' Bulletin and weekly e-bulletin, full of news, features and work opportunities.

We will be sending leaflets for distribution to students around September/October time. We are also happy to provide, where at all possible, a Guild representative to go and chat to the students in the autumn term about the Guild and this new membership scheme.

If anyone is interested in finding out more or in receiving the leaflets then they should contact Christine Paris.
