NAWE's Director, Paul Munden, today announced a new scheme whereby NAWE Members subscribing at the new Professional Membership rate of £30 would automatically benefit from public liability insurance cover.
The new NAWE Insurance Policy will provide public liability cover for professional writers working in public/educational arenas.
Many members have found it expensive (typically £80+) to take out such cover individually. With the NAWE scheme, we are able to offer the cover free to all members who subscribe at our new Professional Membership rate of £30. This is the first increase for nearly a decade, and we intend the subscription to remain fixed at the new level for a similarly long period.
Institutional membership will also increase (to £75) and all listed individuals will be covered by the insurance.
A new Student/Associate Membership rate (£20) will be offered for anyone interested in the work of our association who is not a professional writer. Student/Associate Members will not be covered by the insurance scheme and will not be able to apply through NAWE for CRB disclosures or other clearances.
For overseas members, who cannot benefit from the insurance scheme, subscriptions will remain the same.
All subscription renewals will be charged at the new rates as from 1 September 2009. If your subscription has recently been paid, or is not due for some time, you may wish to upgrade to the new Professional Membership by paying an additional £10 now. Please contact
Clare Mallorie for further details.
Please note that only those members who have paid the full Professional Membership fee will be insured.
We trust that you will find these new developments of very significant value to your work.
