A Cock & Bull Documentary
Thu 20 Oct 2005
Shandy Hall (NAWE's Registered office) - together with Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan (pictured) and all narrative diversions possible - features in this weekend's South Bank Show presented by Melvyn Bragg.
'The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy': Laurence Sterne's comic novel is classic, timeless, hugely inventive... and totally unfilmable - until now. Michael Winterbottom, one of Britain's most original and prolific film directors, has brought this 18th Century work to the screen. Part period drama and part film-within a film, Winterbottom's adaptation, entitled 'A Cock and Bull Story', is a celebration of a joyously nonsensical book and the madness of filmmaking - and The South Bank Show has been granted exclusive access to the entire filmmaking process.

Featuring Steve Coogan, Rob Brydon, Stephen Fry and Dylan Moran, this is the documentary of the film-within-the-film-of-the-period-drama...

Produced, directed and filmed by Archie Powell
