Writing Together Conferences
Mon 6 Mar 2006
Jackie Kay delivered the keynote speech at the latest Writing Together conference in Manchester, attended by over eighty consultants within the North-West.
There were workshops led by Andy Croft and Jo Ind, emphasizing the importance of their partnerhips with teachers  - Faye Murray from The Meadows School in Spennymoor and Alison Percival from Wilnecote Junior School in Tamworth also contributing. And there was input from Kay Tewe of Manchester Metropolitan University, who has been involved with NAWE's 'Taking the Plunge' mentoring project. All delegates went away with a free copy of 'Our thoughts are bees', the book by NAWE members Jean Sprackland and Mandy Coe, which tackles all aspects of writers working with schools.

The next conference is in Birmingham on 21 March.
