This day of workshops is aimed at all writers working in schools. The event takes place in Birmingham on 21 May and is now taking bookings.
The Writers in Schools Skill Sharing Day is for any writers currently working in the primary or secondary education sector who would enjoy sharing their skills and experiences of running creative writing activities with children and young people.
The Skill Sharing Day includes sixteen facilitated workshops, each focussing on an aspect of the work of writers in schools. You will be able to attend up to four workshops and there will be plenty of time for informal discussion between sessions.
Subjects to be covered include Writing Workshop Techniques, Classroom Management, Working With Teachers, Maintaining Your Identity as Writer, Digital / Interactive Writing and Writing Out of the Classroom. The facilitators are experienced writers in schools and are giving their time for free in order to support the development of writers in schools work nationally.
