Young Writers' Group
The first session of our new young writers’ group will take place on Saturday 29 January at Newcastle Central Library.

The first session of New Writing North's new young writers’ group will take place on Saturday 29 January at Newcastle Central Library.

Meeting every other Saturday for the next year, thanks to funding from The Sir James Knott Trust, this is your opportunity to get tips, techniques and inspiration from a professional writer who will lead the group.

You’ll get to meet other young people interested in writing, share your work and give and receive feedback in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. You will also have the opportunity to get one-to-one feedback on your work from a volunteer writing tutor. And by being involved in the group there will be opportunities to celebrate your work and to share it with a wider audience – last year, for example, our young writers’ group published their own anthology, The Book of Songs .

We are hoping to organise other exciting events and workshops for you as the year progresses too. Anyone aged 13-19 with an interest in writing is welcome to attend, and it’s absolutely free. Please contact olivia@newwritingnorth.com if you are interested in joining, or call Anna or Liv on 0191 233 3850 if you have any questions or want to find out more.
