Dear Writer,
First, all of us here at ELFM Towers wish you a happy and productive New Year. May you be fecund to none in your creativity.
We have an exciting six months ahead. In June we're producing our very first East Leeds broadcast literature festival, Writing On Air. This will feature writers, poets, storytellers and dramatists hosting and presenting their work Live on air from the fabulously atmospheric Seacroft Chapel. If you wish to be involved in Writing On Air, now is the time to get in touch. Suggestions for innovative use of radio will be welcome. We don't know of other exclusively broadcast literature festivals elsewhere in the country, so we want to make the most of the medium.
In the shorter term, our next Sunday Joint broadcast will be on Sunday Feb 13th at 5pm. The theme is Love, in all its manifestations - romantic, familial, universal, patriotic, passionate, habitual. And of course there is the opposite of love, the absence of love, the many and varied expressions of love.
Writing can be submitted in any form - poetry, prose, short drama. Either email it in and it will be read on air, or come in and read it in person on the day. This may be a popular subject...., so we may have to be selective - please bear with us on that one.
We look forward to your offers!
Peter.
