Orange offers 23k e-books for sale via Android app
Orange has launched an e-book app for Android, with a "one-click buy" system which directly bills a user's Orange account.

But the app will not be available on Apple's iPhone or iPad devices at the same time because of the well-reported changes to Apple's app purchasing guidelines.

The Orange Book Club Android app is available to Orange contract holders, with access to 23,000 e-books and audio books. Customers can then access the downloaded books across multiple devices through their Orange account. Non-Orange customers can also use the app, though will have to submit separate payment details  in order to buy the e-books.

E-books are priced from 50p in the library, which includes classics, bestsellers and Orange Prize for Fiction books. The app also has a section which features previous Orange Prize winners, quotes from each year's chair of judges and special offers.

Orange brand communications director Stuart Jackson said: "Unlike many other e-book services on the market, ours allows you to purchase with a single click, making it easier than ever before to download your next must-read novel".
