World Book Day: Children's Laureate to take part in first online festival
Half a million children from across the world will take part in the country’s first online children’s book festival on World Book Day 2012 tomorrow.

Children’s Laureate Julia Donaldson, and popular authors and illustrators including Jacqueline Wilson, Eoin Colfer, Cressida Cowell, Derek Landy will take to the stage tomorrow for a free new festival which will be streamed live online.

The festival, called The Biggest Show on Earth, is organised by World Book Day, which aims to get people reading around the world.

Julia Donaldson said: "I'm so excited to be part of World Book Day's Biggest Show on Earth. It's a fantastic way of bringing children together to meet some of the country's very best authors and illustrators. We can't wait to transport millions of children to exciting new worlds."

Prime Minister David Cameron has pledged his support for the 'The Biggest Book Show on Earth’ which will be streamed to young audiences from five continents and 21 countries live from London’s Southbank, where The Duchess of Cornwall will be in the audience.
