English and Creative Writing

If your love of English is directed more towards writing than reading this is the route for you. You’ll learn how to write creatively for both adults and children in poetry and prose and for radio and screen. Develop a broad appreciation of English literature, engage with critical theories and theorists and gain a full understanding of the social, political and cultural context of writing. English literary works have always reflected the rich culture of the period in which they were written. With this course you’ll have a chance to appreciate why. Our English degree helps you to become a fine-tuned critic of poetry, prose and drama - and a well-developed writer in your own right.
