Autumn Voices Poetry Competition 2025 – ‘Play’
Deadline: Sun 30 Nov 2025
This year's Autumn Voices Poetry Competition is open through November for entries on the theme of Play. There are prizes of £220 and £110 to be won, and the winning poems as well as any ‘Commended’ entries will be published on the Autumn Voices website. Judge: Anne Macleod.
We’re taking our theme of Play from National Poetry Day. We hope that gives you lots of options, and we’ll be taking a broad rather than narrow view of the theme in what we look for.
Founded by the late Robin Lloyd-Jones in 2017, Autumn Voices is an organisation based in Scotland that seeks to celebrate creativity in later life. We welcome everyone aged 60 and over, and aim to dispel many of the negative stereotypes associated with getting older. We focus instead on positive ageing and the tonic provided by creativity in later life.
Entries cost £6 for one poem, £10 for two and £13 for three.
All entrants must be aged 60 or over.
