Digital Anthology of Writing on Love in Later Life
Deadline: Sat 30 Aug 2025
Autumn Voices is working with the University of Strathclyde on Getting On, an exploration of Love in Later Life. This includes compiling a digital anthology of new writing – prose and poetry – on the subject. Anyone resident in Scotland and aged 60+ is welcome to submit work.
You can send one prose piece and up to four texts in total.
Prose – fiction or memoir: between 1,000 and 2,000 words, submitted in a Word document in a standard font, size 12, with double line spacing
Poetry: up to 40 lines can be sent in the format that best suits the delivery of the work in its possible published form
Up to sixteen pieces (a mix of prose or poetry) will be selected for the anthology. The fee for each piece selected will be £50.
The anthology will be edited by, and all submissions will be read by, the project team of Andrew Meehan & Trish Hafford-Letchfield (both University of Strathclyde) and Ken Cockburn (Autumn Voices).
The anthology will be published on a website hosted by the University of Strathclyde from late October/early November 2025, with a launch event/reading in Glasgow.
