Glasgow Caledonian University London: Call for proposals for Creative Experiment in the Higher Education Classroom online symposium
Deadline: Fri 29 May 2020
This online symposium being hosted by Glasgow Caledonian University London on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th June 2020 (approx 1-4pm BST) aims to bring together those who teach creative experiment, who have employed creative experiment in their teaching, and who research creative experiment in Higher Education for two collaborative afternoons of talks and discussion via Zoom. We invite proposals for 15 minute talks from participants at all stages of their careers.
Sharing our research and good practice, we will consider not only how we might teach creative experiment, but also what role it might play in our pedagogy. In so doing, we will consider the place of creative experiment in enhancing the student experience.
In spite of our format, possible topics do not have to be related to online classrooms, and may include, but are not limited to:
New approaches to traditional subjects
Assessment of creative experiments/ Creative experiments in assessment
Experiential Learning
Creative experiment in the digital classroom
High stakes and failure
Cultural context, international classrooms, and conceptions of creativity
The role of creative experiment in widening participation
Collaboration and Interdisciplinarity
We anticipate a panel structure with Q&A time and would also welcome panel proposals.
Proposals should be 100-250 words in length and sent along with name and affiliation and contact details to the organisers (Dr Anne Chapman, Stefan Hollins, and Dr Ruth Marciniak) via Anne.Chapman@gcu.ac.uk no later than Friday 29th May 2020.
Please direct enquiries to Anne at the same email address.
