The International Granada Writers in Residence Programme 2026 is open to writers residing in any country and writing in any language.
What We Offer
A 30-night residency in Granada for two writers, from Monday, 2 November to Tuesday, 1 December 2026, inclusive, at the Corrala de Santiago, University of Granada.
Granada UNESCO City of Literature will cover the round-trip travel expenses for each selected writer from the airport nearest to their place of residence to Granada Airport. Transfers between the writer’s home and the departure airport will be the responsibility of the resident.
The University of Granada will provide accommodation in a single room on a full-board basis at its guest residence, the Corrala de Santiago.
Granada UNESCO City of Literature and the University of Granada will facilitate opportunities for resident writers to engage with Granada’s literary life, meet local authors, and participate in workshops and educational activities.
What We Expect
Resident writers are expected to participate in the public activities and opportunities for engagement with Granada’s literary community organised by the Programme.

Applicants must have published at least two individually authored books. Contributions to anthologies or collective volumes will not be considered.
