John Yorke Story: 80% bursary for women in video games
Deadline: Mon 4 May 2020
Female talent is under-represented in the video games industry. Be the change and apply for our 80% bursary towards a place on our Story for Video Games online course.

In honour of National Video Games Day, John Yorke Story is offering an 80% bursary towards their Story for Video Games 7-week online course. The only requirements are that you are a woman who loves and plays video games, and is interested in how to tell engaging game stories.

Our Story for Video Games online course takes the principles of story structure set out in John Yorke’s bestselling book Into the Woods and applies them to video games – to help you create richer and more compelling stories.

On this 7-week online course you’ll master story structure techniques for games. You’ll investigate the relationship between player and protagonist, discover how to merge story and gameplay, and find ways to use those skills in a development team.

At the end of the course you’ll write a story treatment for a game, and get feedback from story expert John Yorke and Heavy Rain lead designer Caroline Marchal.

For further information about the course, visit our website

To apply for the bursary, please contact us at learn@johnyorkestory.com, telling us why you're the perfect person to take this opportunity.

The deadline is Monday 04 May 2020 at 13:50.
