National Memory Day poet training session in Plymouth: call for expressions of interest
Deadline: Sun 27 Oct 2019
The National Memory Day Partnership invite applications for a free half-day National Memory Day poet training session taking place on Tuesday 19th November 2019, 1-5pm, in Plymouth.

We are looking for expressions of interest from practising poets resident in Plymouth or within a short commute of the city. The selected candidates will be invited to attend this free half day training session for poets interested in delivering poetry workshops at Memory Cafés and other community dementia support settings.?

This is part of our National Memory Day project, which celebrates the?power of poetry?and the?positive impact of creative engagement?for those affected by memory loss.

The training will be delivered jointly by Dementia Friends in association with the Alzheimer’s Society and, on behalf of Literature Works, the poet Karen Hayes, who has successfully run several National Memory Day sessions.?

The training is offered free of charge and, although attendance does not guarantee subsequent work, it is in preparation for an upcoming programme of workshops at Memory Cafés in Plymouth.

Please note, there are limited spaces available, so applications will be subject to a selection process.
