Spread the Word x TOKEN Magazine seeking new writing and art inspired by Lewisham and Deptford

Spread the Word are collaborating with TOKEN Magazine to create a special edition for Deptford Literature Festival which will take place next March. We're looking for writing and artwork inspired by Deptford and Lewisham by writers from underrepresented backgrounds, with a preference for writers and artists based in the area.
We’re looking for:
short stories
life writing
photography
artwork
illustrations
poems
comic strips
The issue will be published for Deptford Literature Festival on 19 March 2022.
Support from Arts Council England means we are able to offer a £75 fee to all selected contributors who will also receive a copy of the magazine.
TOKEN Magazine, founded in 2017, is a literature and arts print magazine that features under-represented writers and artists. It is run by Sara Jafari, who both designs and edits the magazine, with the aim of championing under-represented voices, and telling stories that are not often heard through mainstream channels.
