WOHAA Charity Poetry Competition 2026
Deadline: Mon 16 Feb 2026
This year's Wings of Hope Achievement Awards (WOHAA) are based on the theme "Equality and Acceptance". Participants are invited to submit a poem under 40 lines. First prize £50, second prize £30, plus many other prizes to be won as well!

The Wings of Hope is a UK-based charity that was founded by two people, Mrs Rajni Sri Ram and Dr R Sri Ram. Together, they formed a charity which empowers young people to take action in the community, and be the ones who make the world a better place.

The Wings of Hope has an illustrious history spanning 22 years, from 2003. 22 years of helping over 35,300 students from 612 different schools.

The mission statement of WOHAA has two main aims. The first aim is to provide children in the UK transferable, important skills, particularly those coming from socio-economic disadvantages. The second aim is to help children in developing countries like India and Malawi, with the hope of bringing a better future for all.

Colloquially referred to as “WOHAA”, the Wings of Hope Achievement Awards were formed two years after the charity, recognising and praising the efforts of those who devoted themselves, for the community. It follows a similar structure to the Duke of Edinburgh opportunity, with Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards. The best of the best are invited to the semi-finals, where they present their journey of hope, followed by a prize-giving ceremony.

Still, the idea remains the same. Wings of Hope isn’t just any charity. It’s a charity which stands to empower, teach, and develop young minds into flourishing beings.

For this cause, we are raising money for charity via a poetry competition centred around the theme of Equality & Acceptance, which is open to enter for all ages and demographics.

Price: £3 for an entry
