2026 Manchester Writing School Summer Festival

Join us for this four-day taste of life in the Manchester Writing School at Manchester Metropolitan University (15–19 June 2026). Attend online on 15 and 16 June, in person on 18 and 19 June, or join us for all four days.

Meet tutors and current students and develop your writing in a lively and supportive environment through an exciting programme of practical workshops and expert talks. Sessions will be led by Andrew McMillan, Kim Moore, Helen Mort, Zodwa Nyoni, Joe Stretch and more.

Build your literary community, make connections, and access support for your writing life at one of the UK’s biggest and most successful literary centres.

Dates/location: 15 and 16 June 2026 (online) / 18-19 June 2026 (in person at Manchester Metropolitan University)
Cost: £350 for all four days or £250 for the two-day online programme, and £250 for the two-day in-person programme. 
Bursary places available.

Attendance at the 2026 Manchester Writing School Summer Festival is free for all Manchester Met English and Creative Writing students and alumni.
