Sun 24 Sep 2023 to Fri 29 Sep 2023
An international writing retreat in Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site home to fairytale-like palaces and breathtaking natural landscapes. The theme of this year's retreat is "A Sense of Place", delving deep into themes of displacement, belonging, otherness and saudade. Organised by Lisbon's leading creative writing school, Escrever Escrever, in collaboration with multilingual author Elena Traina. Registration closes 20 July.

This is a residential, tutored retreat with 21 hours of contact time. Our venue is the cozy guesthouse Casa do Valle.

The fee for this retreat includes all workshops, accommodation, breakfast and dinners. It also includes a guided visit to the National Palace of Pena and its gardens and a trip to the stunning Praia da Adraga.

A retreat to look inward and outward, renegotiating the meaning of home, place and identity in your writing in a most inspiring and stunning setting.

All-inclusive Fee: €2900 (individual), €1870 (shared)
Registration closes on 20th July 2023.
