Acorn Writing Retreats are designed to give writers the time, structure and encouragement they need to make substantial progress on their projects. Our retreats are based on Professor Rowena Murray's Structured Writing Retreat model, which has helped many writers overcome procrastination and achieve their goals.

Each retreat brings together a small yet mighty group of writers in inspirational Scottish locations such as the multi-award-winning Oak Tree Inn beside Loch Lomond and the luxurious private estate Madeira in Fife. Lasting 3-4 days, participants take part in focused writing sessions (60 - 90 mins) and supported by a welcoming and inclusive community.

Alongside the structured programme, writers enjoy nutritious meals and treats, restorative breaks and the chance to recharge in the beautiful Scottish countryside. By the end of each retreat, many participants are amazed by how much they have achieved and leave with renewed energy, clarity and momentum to succeed.

Acorn Writing Retreats are open to academics, creatives, professionals and students at any stage of their writing journey.
