Announcing Quay Words Winter at Exeter Custom House
Thu 3 Oct 2019 to Tue 31 Mar 2020
Literature Works is delighted to announce Quay Words Winter, a second season celebrating words and stories at Exeter Custom House. This programme, commissioned by Exeter Canal and Quay Trust will run between National Poetry Day, 3rd October 2019 and 31st March 2020.

We’ll be making author readings a regular feature of Quay Words Winter. Bringing to your doorstep writing talent from far afield and close to home, these will be an opportunity to enjoy writers’ work and put your questions to them. Author events will be on the second Wednesday of every month.

The first is Poetry Positive on Wednesday 13th November with acclaimed novelist and poet Joe Dunthorne and celebrated performance poet Matt Harvey – the perfect antidote to those long, dark November evenings.Book your tickets here.

As October draws to a close, we’ll be welcoming three local schools to the Custom House for a series of workshops with our partners from Cornwall, KEAP and their Writers’ Block immersive, theatrical creative writing project.

If like us, you’re filled with motivation to put pen to pen this season, look out for our writing courses at the Custom House, coming soon. There will be two sets of weekly courses running one on a Saturday and one during a weekday evening.

Looking further ahead, we’ll also be teaming up with the Writers’ & Artists’ Yearbook to bring our collaborative event ‘How to Get Published’ event to Exeter on Saturday 14th March 2020.

Come explore words and stories with us with Quay Words Winter at Exeter Custom House.
