Arvon At Home: Live Guest Reading and Q&A with Simon Armitage
Wed 5 Aug 2020 to Wed 5 Aug 2020
Now more than ever we need stories – to engage, to distract, to entertain, to nourish, and to help us make sense of what we’re living through. And so while you can’t come to us, instead we will come to you. Every Wednesday evening an Arvon tutor will join us as a guest, to read from their own work and answer your questions live and in person online. This week we're joined by Simon Armitage.
Simon Armitage has published over a dozen collections of poetry and written extensively for broadcast media, particularly radio. He is Professor of Poetry at the University of Leeds and in 2015 was elected Oxford Professor of Poetry. He was appointed Poet Laureate in 2019. The reading and interactive Q&A will be hosted on Zoom.
We are more committed than ever to helping writers find inspiration, and to make space for their own creativity, no matter the setting. So join us from the comfort of your sofa and listen to writers share their work, the stories behind their work, and invaluable writing advice directly from their own desk (or maybe the kitchen table).
