Poems are like people, they arrive with distinct energies, changing the air around them. Some poems burst in with a whirlwind of words. Some poems freeze, or contain themselves tightly behind their own lines.

On this course with award-winning poets Caroline Bird and Hannah Copley, you’ll try on multiple energies – wild, excessive, sparse, meticulous, composed, searing and controlled – and find ways to hold restraint and emotion inside the same poem. Prepare to write a lot of new material.
