Arvon Online Writing Week: Radio Drama: Holding your Audience with Lu Kemp and Oliver Emanuel
Mon 1 Nov 2021 to Fri 5 Nov 2021
Radio is the most intimate of the dramatic mediums – one voice, one listener. But it’s also practically the easiest dramatic form to walk away from.
From beginnings to endings, this week looks at how you capture the listener in the first two minutes, and how you keep a hold of them until the credits, with plenty of practical industry advice and individual feedback along the way.

Lu Kemp is a radio drama director, theatre director and dramaturg. She has 20 years’ experience working for the BBC as an in-house and freelance producer. Lu and Oliver regularly collaborate on both radio plays and theatre productions.

Oliver Emanuel is an internationally award-winning playwright based in Scotland. He has written more than 30 plays for both stage and radio. Oliver is Reader of Playwriting at the University of St Andrews.
