Open to writers at all levels of experience, the sessions will be designed to generate new work, help you understand what it means to find your voice and explore ethical considerations when writing about real people.

You will receive support with technical aspects of your writing and gain confidence in your work.

Everyone has a story, and this lively, inspiring and supportive course will help you to tell yours.

This residential short course will be held at IOU Hostel run by Arts Charity IOU in Hebden Bridge. The course will be hosted by the team from Arvon’s Lumb Bank and is fully catered (no group cooking), all food is vegetarian. All rooms are single occupancy with an en-suite, and the hostel is located within Hebden Bridge town centre, but close to woodland to explore.

Amy Liptrot is the author of two Sunday Times bestselling memoirs: The Instant (2022) and The Outrun (2016) which won the Wainwright Book Prize and has been adapted for screen.

Dan Richards is a writer and broadcaster who specialises in travel, memoir, and culture. Having previously taught at Bristol University, he currently teaches Creative Non-Fiction at The National Centre for Writing (in association with UEA) and is a regular tutor at Moniack Mhor and Arvon.
