Arvon: Screenwriting Tutored Retreat
Mon 5 Nov 2018 to Sat 10 Nov 2018
The journey from page to screen. If you are a writer who has a recently completed script but know you still have real work to do, then we are here to help and support you. Tutors David Eldridge & Eleanor Greene

Is your screenplay distinctive and will it hold an audience’s attention? What are its strengths and how can it be improved? Are you writing well enough for the leading actors whose interest will aid your drama on its journey to a big or small screen?

After booking on this course, you are invited to submit a pitch document outlining your screenplay (up to 2,000 words) and the first ten pages of a work-in-progress screenplay, to be sent to thehurst@arvon.org by 24 September 2018.

David Eldridge’s plays include Under The Blue Sky, Festen (after the dogme95 film), Market Boy, The Knot of the Heart, In Basildon and recently Holy Warriors. His work has been performed at The Royal Court, the Bush, the Almeida, the Royal Exchange and the National Theatre, amongst others. He has adapted classic Scandinavian dramas, and written for TV, film and radio. The Picture Man won a Prix Europa.

Eleanor Greene is an award winning Executive Producer and producer having developed from scratch a number of shows for TV including The Scandalous Lady W, The Silence, and Party Animals all for BBC2.

Tina Gharavi is a Sundance/BAFTA-nominated screenwriter/director who initially trained as a painter. She is noted for innovative crossplatform work, often about outsiders, rebels and misfits. Her work blends documentary and fiction and two features are currently in development.
