Arvon Writing Week: Poetry: Haunted landscapes with Clare Shaw and Anthony (Vahni) Capildeo
Mon 28 Oct 2024 to Fri 1 Nov 2024
Bloodaxe poet Clare Shaw and Trinidadian Scottish writer Anthony Vahni Capildeo will be your inspiring guides as you explore the wild and haunted landscape of your imagination from the comfort of your own space.

Through stimulating exercises, lively discussion and individual feedback, you’ll be inspired by traditional and non-traditional writing prompts on a fearless and vulnerable journey through darker days and the turn of the year.

We’ll explore thin places, join a dance of words with the dead, find community with fragments and relics, through mudlarking, scavenging, personal mementoes and archives, and queer death and time through the work of love and embodiment.

Each day will be packed with reading and writing in a safe space to explore a diverse selection of literature that illuminates the world around us. In group workshops and focused 1:1s, you’ll open practical ways of making your best work, from your darkest and brightest creative self.
