A cultural partnership between the BBC, literature development agency Word Up North and Bradford City of Culture, supported by Arts Council England, brings the ninth annual BBC Contains Strong Language to Bradford for the first time, from September 18th to 21st.
The annual festival is the UK's biggest festival of poetry, performance and spoken word, and will feature performance, readings, events and activities at venues across the city, as part of the Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture celebrations.
Poets and performers from Bradford will be strongly represented, with Kirsty Taylor, Nabeela Ahmed, Suhaiymah Manzoor-Khan, Kemmi Gill, Kate Fox, Emma Conally-Barklem, Rachel Bower and Wilko Wilkes all featuring on the line up.
A raft of Radio 4 programmes, including Front Row, Start the Week and Loose Ends, will be broadcast live or recorded during the four-day festival.
Most events are FREE (but booking is required), and tickets are available here
