City Lit: Plot your children's novel in two days with Sophie McKenzie
Sat 4 Jun 2022 to Sun 5 Jun 2022
You’re a writer with some experience and a great idea for a children’s novel, but plotting is the thing that lets you down. Spend two days in this interactive workshop, learning about structure and developing your idea into a compelling plot.

This course is designed for students who have some experience of writing for children but need support to create a compelling plot that grips the reader from the first word to the final page. You'll be shown how to use a template for plotting your novels which will give you a structure to hang your ideas on.

A former journalist, Sophie McKenzie attended a writing class at City Lit in 2003 and has been writing fiction ever since. She has published over 25 books - including award-winning teen thrillers and crime fiction novels for adults. She is currently writing a new story featuring several strong female characters and working on a drama script for a TV production company.
