City Lit: Writing experimental fiction with Joe Thomas
Sun 7 Jun 2020 to Sun 7 Jun 2020
Writing fiction is always an experiment in how to connect to your reader, but some stories push the established boundaries of form to the extreme. In this advanced course you'll test the limits of your imagination to craft fiction that breaks all the rules with purpose.

Experimentation is a key aspect of any fiction writing project, but some stories don't want to fit neatly into established forms. In this course you'll explore what it means to experiment with form in fiction, analyse how other writers have done it successfully, and write your own boldly original stories that derive meaning from doing things a little differently…

This is an advanced level course. It is suitable for those with lots of experience writing fiction, though you may be new to experimental fiction.
