Creative Writing for Wellbeing - Stay on Flat Holm Island

With its rich natural beauty and a fascinating history, Flat Holm is the ideal place to find inspiration for your creative writing. This course led by artist and writer Sarah Featherstone is suitable for complete beginners and those with some writing experience. It is an opportunity to explore Flat Holm’s rich history and landscape while developing your own writing practice.
The course is structured to allow time for quiet contemplation, open, supportive facilitation and coming together to share stories and the writing journey. You will be encouraged to bring a mindful approach to your writing, using all your senses as you explore the island.
It is to be held on Flat Holm Island from Friday August 23, 2024 to Sunday August 25, 2024.

Sarah Featherstone is an artist and writer based in Cardiff. She has an MA in Creative Writing, and has been a community tutor for six years, working with diverse groups of adults and children in many settings. She runs classes for Cardiff council’s adult learning programme and works with the Arts for Wellbeing organization Breathe Creative. Sarah writes poetry, short stories, and is a long-term journal keeper, writing for self-exploration and as a form of reflective practice. She is passionate about how creativity can support wellbeing, and is a member of Lapidus International, the Writing for Wellbeing community.
