EMBLAZE Creative Non-fiction Masterclass: The Art of Writing True Stories by EMBLAZE, Paper Nations
In September 2025, EMBLAZE will be running a series of online masterclasses for ambitious writers of colour in the South West.
Designed by award-winning writer and literary editor, Dionne McCulloch, and delivered by Commonwealth Writers’ Prize winner, Aminatta Forna, these classes will offer writers the chance to gain invaluable support in looking to develop their work from idea to completion.
The Creative Non-Fiction Masterclass is for writers of colour with at least a summary and introductory chapter of a work of nonfiction, including memoir. Our goal is to support the creation of art and to help to launch the careers of writers with the ambition and commitment to work towards publication.
A project of Paper Nations’ latest imprint, EMBLAZE, this is part of our work to illuminate important Black writing.
The masterclass will run online from 1st to 11th September 2025.
The pricing option is: Full course (5 x 1.5-hour workshops & 2 x one-on-one sessions) = £1,000
We are offering the opportunity to receive an EMBLAZE funded scholarship which covers the full costs of the Masterclass. The scheme is generous, we urge you to apply, however the scholarship is open to UK residents only.
Apply to take part in the masterclass/receive a funded scholarship here: thestorysociety.pinpointhq.com/ by Wednesday 13th August 2025.
