Faber Academy: Edit Your Novel
Thu 9 Oct 2014 to Wed 16 Jul 2014
Edit Your Novel is a bit different to our other courses. It's for people who've finished their novel (or nearly, at least)

There are only ten of you in a class. And you'll be taught by a professional editor and literary agent; the course directors are a Faber Editor and a leading literary agent. It's nine months long, too.

The idea is to take the format of the Faber Academy's flagship Writing A Novel course and apply it to rewriting, to prepare you for publication. It will give you the support to finish the job.

You'll start off with a reader's report on a draft of your novel from a top London reader. That ought to get you going.

Then you will attend regular evening workshops with the course directors (and, on occasion, a special guest), and work through all the important issues that face a writer after draft one:

• hone your voice
• tighten your structure
• nail your synopsis
• decide on your title
• plan your route to publication

There will also be one-to-ones with the Editor and Agent, three times during the course, to discuss anything that's troubling you.
