Faber Academy: Writing Women with Katherine Angel
Mon 31 Aug 2020 to Fri 4 Sep 2020
Looking at a range of forms during this five-day course, Katherine Angel asks: what kind of writing effectively captures the textures and quandaries of women’s lives? What techniques will you need to bring these textures into your own writing?

The course will look at extracts by a wide range of writers and use extracts from their work to illustrate and concretise contemporary trends in women’s writing.

Whether you are a novelist, a short-story writer, a memoirist, an essayist, or a combination of these, this course will help you create compelling writing through an examination of sensory evocation, narrative action, tone, and structure, across both fiction and non-fiction.

Join Katherine Angel in our brand new, specially designed online classroom for five days of group discussion and individual exercises to help you build technical confidence and skill.

Katherine Angel is the author of Unmastered: A Book On Desire, Most Difficult To Tell (Penguin, 2012), Daddy Issues (Peninsula Press, 2019), and Tomorrow Sex Will Be Good Again (Verso, 2021). She is Director of the MA in Creative and Critical Writing at Birkbeck College, University of London.
