Gladstone's Library: Working out what’s worth writing about - a masterclass with Guy Stagg
Sat 26 Nov 2022 to Sat 26 Nov 2022
How do you know whether that personal experience is worth writing about, or not? How best to get it on the page? How best to convey it to a reader? In this masterclass with Guy Stagg participants will use everyday items and their own memories to construct a series of exercises designed to get you thinking – and writing – in vivid detail.
Guy Stagg is a writer and journalist. After a turbulent period in his life he decided to walk to Jerusalem in what would turn out to be a ten-month pilgrimage via Rome and Istanbul. His account of this time – 2018’s The Crossway – was awarded the Edward Stanford Travel Memoir of the Year in 2019 and has been called ‘a poignant and poetic book’.
